Welcome to HenryBoo
Travel & Events Blogs
Hi, I’m Mariah and this cute little guy in front of me is my best friend, Henry.
Otherwise known as ‘HenryBoo‘
He’s the face of the adventure, and I’m the one behind the leash – and the logistics.
In 2020, I graduated from The University of Northampton with a first-class degree in Event Management. From there, I worked my way through event sales and coordination in a variety of hotels and event venues. As one of the most organised humans you’ll ever meet, I discovered an oddly passionate love for travel planning. Give me my passport, a ring binder and an Excel doc, and I’m good to go.
Now it’s time to channel my experience (and obsession with colour-coded itineraries) into sharing my most fun and memorable adventures and events, plus sprinkling some tips and tricks I’ve learnt along the way.
Whether it’s a weekend getaway, a road trip to Europe, or a DIY wedding day, Henry and I are here to share the journey, one perfectly planned moment at a time.
I also have a lovely husband, Chris, who happily follows whatever Google Maps address I drop into his phone – Not all heroes wear capes.

Turning 30 in the Fast Lane:
A milestone celebrated with pizza, sun and Mercedes Benz
July 14, 2025
My life now involves pretending to understand the appeal of engine remapping, and endless alloy colour changes while waiting an entire day for Chris to finish detailing every minor smudge on the paintwork. But I should count my blessings and be grateful that I don’t need to take a second glance if my engine light comes on. Just walk though the door and throw my keys in Chris’ hands.
And let’s be real – he’s lucky too. Because while he can rebuild a brake system blindfolded, he’s got a wife who’s more than happy to dedicate hours of her time planning a DIY, car-themed 30th birthday party – all on a budget.
Martha Stewart meets Motorsport, if you will.

HenryBoo Travels to Amboise:
Following Owls Through History & Heart
November 11, 2025
After running on fumes for the past few days, we took this rare opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved lie in before departing Amboise and making our way to our next destination – Dijon!
Once we managed to get a very reluctant Henry up and ready for the day, we piled into the car and made the 4-hour journey to central Dijon. Dijon thoroughly took me by surprise. The moment we walked out of the parking garage, it was like stepping into a storybook. Surrounded by medieval townhouses and Renaissance spires, Dijon’s pedestrianised old town has this enchanting charm, like wandering through the streets of Beauty and the Beast, half-expecting to see a frazzled mother pleading for six eggs…

Married on a Mountain:
Disaster in the Dolomites
June 10, 2025
Grey clouds, a new neckline, and a car that gave up before I could.
When Chris finally proposed, we had already settled on the idea of eloping. The original plan was to drive Route 66 through America and end with a symbolic ceremony at Santa Monica, but the events of 2020 had other ideas. In hindsight, this ended up being a blessing in disguise as I knew I absolutely could NOT get married without my furry little sidekick, Henry, by my side! So, there was only one option… ROAD TRIP!…

HenryBoo Travels to Amboise:
Race Tracks, Fairytale Château’s & Sunset Sips
August 2nd, 2025
Once we wrapped up our ‘race’, we set off for Chenonceaux in the Loire Valley to visit one of my most FAVOURITE dog-friendly activities in all of France!
We drove about an hour and a half to a free dirt car park along the River Cher, and from there, it was just a five minute walk along the scenic waterfront to a quaint, little stone building – the ticket office for La Bélandre, a river cruise company that sails past the stunning Château de Chenonceau. …
This blog is named after my dog and best friend, Henry.
Henry is 7 years old and is half Chihuahua, a quarter Jack Russell, and a quarter Italian Greyhound – and trust me, you can spot every part of that mix!
He’s small but mighty, full of personality, and always up for an adventure (that’s a lie – he’s actually pretty lazy).
If you’ve got a dog, Henry wants to meet them. If you’ve got a face, Henry wants to lick it.
Whether he’s curled up on the sofa, running around with his favourite squeaky carrot, or having a wander around the park, Henry brings the fun, the kisses and the sass.
Mariah xoxo
